He was predeceased by: his parents, Rueben Schutte and Esther Schutte (Wittenburg); his wife Shirley Schutte; his siblings, Orlyn Schutte and Carolyn Cox; his parents-in-law, Fred and Erna Nolte; his siblings-in-law, Carol Mathhias, Bob Erhardt, Darrel Cox and Virgil Matthias; his grandson Andy Kaufman; and his great grandchild Beckett Kaufman.

He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Schutte of Tripoli, Jeff Schutte (Judy) of Readlyn, Becky Welch (Bear) of Hopkinton, Iowa, Lori Fortsch (Barry) of Readlyn and Joni Swyers (Skip) of Readlyn; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Schutte of Waverly, Nancy Erhardt of Readlyn and Mary Matthias of Readlyn. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
