He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Shook and Clara Shook (Lohman); his sister Clemie Marken; and his brothers-in-law, Al Nieman, Charles Williams and Alvin Marken.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Shook of Readlyn; his children, Ellis Shook Jr. (Lisa) of Dunkerton, Jeff Shook (Lori) of Tripoli, Dave Shook (Kathy) of Tripoli and Deb Leisinger (Clif) of Sumner; and his sisters, Audrey Niemann of Cedar Falls and Joan Williams of Readlyn. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren.
