It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Burton Henry Thies of Readlyn, Iowa, who passed away on April 20, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thies and Maria Thies (Schaal); his siblings, William, Wilbert, Erwin Thies and Charlotte; his nephew Ricky Thies; and his siblings-in-law, Genevieve Weisbrodt, Dorothy Thies and Harold Henning.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen Thies of Readlyn; his sister Margaret Henning of Shell Rock; his brother-in-law William Weisbrodt of Waverly; and his nieces and nephews, Ken Henning (Lorie), Audrey Elsamiller (Jerry), Joanne Henning, Jody Thies and Mike Weisbrodt.

Memorials may be directed to Community Lutheran School; Readlyn First Responders, or to the Waverly Health Center.
