He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlin L. "Mac" McGowan and Hazel Mae Thomas McGowan. He is survived by: his wife Kathy A. Terhune of Raymond; his children, T. J. McGowan (Lisa) of Cedar Falls and Nicole McGowan (Martez) of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Adonis (Derek), Cade, Terril (Shireena), Mersadies, Taytum, Saadiq, Elijah and Bella; his great grandchild Teigan; and his sister Alys Jo Lawson (Ken) of Bettendorf.
