She was predeceased by: her parents, Lowell Brown and Nellie LaVerne Brown (Cochran); her grandparents, Roy, Effie Cochran and Churdan; her husband LaVerne Gerdes; and her siblings, Merlin Dale Brown, Velma Henning, Roberta Noyes, Mardell Shipley, Karen Brown and Doneta Linquist.
She is survived by: her children, Linus Gerdes of Ralston, Duane Gerdes (Ayako) of Springfield, Georgia, Randy Gerdes of Springfield, Georgia, Michelle Snyder (David) of Glidden, Sharon Hanson of Elk Grove, California, Pamela Rensink (Mark) of Sioux Center, Iowa, Eugene Gerdes (Angie) of Fairfield, California and Mitchell Gerdes (Heather) of Overland Park, Kansas; and her sisters, Ramona Johnson of Florida and Marcella'Sally'Van Horn of Arizona. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren: 18 great-grandchildren.
