He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Chesmore and Mable Chesmore (Hocken); his daughter Teresa Chesmore; his brothers, Merle (Butch) and Dean Chesmore; and his stepsiblings, Lee, Robert Jewett, Laverne Anstey and Betty Keller (Jewett).

He is survived by: his wife Nedra Chesmore of Quasqueton, IA; his children, Russell Chesmore (Patricia) of Verona, WI, Lynette Richter (Richard) of Maple Grove, MN, Kevin Chesmore (Melissa) of Firestone, CO, Kurt Chesmore (Kelli) of Center Point, IA and Kent Chesmore (Stephanie) of Cedar Falls, IA; his grandchildren, Brent Chesmore (Kristyn Romanowski), Ashley Boat (Brandon), Merissa Marcussen (Mat), Cody Chesmore (Michael Desoto), Lauren Petersen (Jacob), Courtney Chesmore (Henry), Aaron Richter, Josie Dighton (Nick), Max Chesmore and Makenna Chesmore; his great grandchildren, Nora Petersen, Anna Petersen, Arie Boat and Malcolm Boat; and his sister Sandra Hines (Bob) of Cuba, MO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
