He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Chapman and Leona Chapman (Wendland); his parents-in-law, Walter and Primrose Gienapp; and his brother-in-law Greg Gienapp.
He is survived by: his wife Marsha Chapman of Quasqueton; his daughters, Paula Schmitz (Steve) of Jesup and Renee Lape (Bob) of Oelwein; his grandchildren, Jessica Buffington, Morgan Myers, Dalton Lape (Amy), Ethan Lape and Kennedy Lape; and his great grandchildren, Damon, Seth, Kylee, Maddilyn, Preston, Baylea and Jaxon.
