He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Kline and Elizabeth Hobb Kline; his wife Betty Downey; and his sister Loreen Davidson. He is survived by: his children, Dixie Shelton (Stuart) of Stockton, Curtis Kline (Mona) of Ankeny, Todd Kline (Shari) of Goodman, Brenda Mincks (Jack) of Mitchellville and Rhonda Davis (Tim) of Slater, Iowa.; and his grandchildren, Travis Shelton (Sarah), Chad Shelton (Kendra), Trent Shelton (Chika Kusakawa), Leah Preisser (Justin), Tara Carter (Rob), Jessica Ragusin (Kyle), Brandon Kline (Mandy), Meghan Steele (Sean), Shannon Kline (Kaisha), Ryan Mincks (Natalie), Adam Mincks, Ashley Hoppenworth (Barret) and Tanner Davis (Lindsey). He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.
