He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bill Mapes and Mary Mapes (Kloppenborg); his former wife Geraldine "Jerri" Wilde Elliott; his wife Jerri Mapes of Princeton; his siblings, Fran Kuhlman (Steve) of The Villages, Cheri Arney (Greg) of Bettendorf, Jan Kramer (Mark) of Foley, Alabama, Tom Mapes (Pat) of Davenport and William Mapes of Moline, Illinois; his siblings-in-law, Donna Key (Gene), Jan Hornbuckle (Frank), Barb Wilde and John Wilde (Vicki Garrison); and his sister Dolores Bivens (Ron).
