She was predeceased by: her parents, George Johnson and Geraldine "Tiny" Johnson (Herzberg); her parents-in-law, William and Ida Nicholson; and her niece Julie Packett.
She is survived by: her husband Edgar Nicholson of Le Mars; her sons, Phil Nicholson (Susan) of Akron and Steve Nicholson of Vero Beach, FL; her grandchildren, Jill Gale (Eric) of Ames, IA, Nick Nicholson (Laura) of Le Mars, IA and Matthew Nicholson (Kourtney) of Akron, IA; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Nicholson of Omaha, NE.. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Judy's name to St. John's Lutheran Church in Craig, Iowa, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of her family.
