He was predeceased by: his father Charles Atkinson (Jack); and his grandparents, Herbert, Laura Messerich (Scheckel), Charles (Bill) and Honora Atkinson (O'Brien).
He is survived by: his mother Carol Atkinson (Messerich) of Preston, IA; and his siblings, Jolene Atkinson-Kruse (Dan) of Bettendorf, IA, Jeffrey Atkinson (Jodie) of Clinton, IA, Joel Atkinson (Lisa) of Clinton, IA, Julie Crow (Ken) of Bryant, IA, James Atkinson of Park View, IA, Jerrod Atkinson (Christy) of Dubuque, IA and Justin Atkinson of DeWitt, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
