She was predeceased by: her parents, Govert Zee and Bertha Beintima Van Zee; her husband Roy Buitenwerf; and her siblings, Martin, Dick, Chester, Bill, Harry, Raymond, Marion Van Zee and Katherine Boot.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark (Eunice) and Michael (Betty); her grandchildren, Eric (Ginger), Ryan (Tamara), Tera (Kevin) and Tyler (Anita); and her great grandchildren, Scott, Bethany, Judah, Eva, Mayson, Isaac, Gavin, Ian and Leah.
Memorials may be directed to the First Reformed Church or the Prairie City Historical Society.
