He was predeceased by: his parents, John Steenhoek and Dena Steenhoek (Witzenberg); his wife Anna Ruth Gabelmann; his sons-in-law, Max Worden and Mark Hamilton; and his siblings, Hubert, Henry, Andrew, Bertha Beyer and Gerdena Dykstra.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Worden, Larry Steenhoek (Linda), Ruth Hancock (Jerry), Ronald Dean Steenhoek (Jean), Karen Steenhoek (Gene A.), Marla Hamilton, John Steenhoek (Justi) and Irv Steenhoek (Tricia). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Reformed Church.
