He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Smith of Postville; his daughters, Julie and Gwen; his grandchildren, Natani, Tyler, Joe and Jalina; and his siblings, Theresa, Mary Verthein (Mark), Martha Day (Dale), Monica McGeough (Kenny), Mike (late Ann Althoff), Danny (Renay) and Paul (Carolyn). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
