He was predeceased by : his parents, Roy Edward and Mary Francis Bridwell (Cross); his wife Marlene Schwardt; his son Dewey Bridwell; his granddaughter Erika Klaassen; and his brothers, David Bridwell, Phillip Heide and Michael Bridwell.

He is survived by : his daughters, Melanie Klaassen (Michael) of Pomeroy and Jannifer Bridwell of Pomeroy; his grandchildren, Michaela Klaassen, Andrea Hiatt (Conner) and Jacob Klaassen; and his siblings, Ron Bridwell (Karen), Ray Bridwell (Sharon), Paul Heide (Jan), Allen Bridwell, Marcia Bridwell, Pam Harter (Bob), Patty Ingle, Peggy Bridwell, Michelle Bridwell and Christina Bridwell (John).
