He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Meyer and Elsie Meyer (Franzen); his brother Alan; his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Tillie Mathiasen (Teyen); his stepfather-in-law Bob Mathiasen; and his siblings-in-law, JoAnne Marsh and Jerry Marsh.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Scott Meyer (Melinda) of Belmond, IA, Todd Meyer (Lisa) of Bennington, NE, Dan Meyer (Heidi) of Ankeny, IA and Kelly Allan (Monte) of Parkersburg, IA; and his sister-in-law Karen Meyer of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
