It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dennis Carl Barkhaus Sr. (Pomeroy, Iowa), born in San Diego, California, who passed away on February 24, 2019, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Barkhaus and Karl Barkhaus; his spouse Norma Slagle; his daughter-in-law Aleta Barkhaus; his grandsons, Rick Thompson and Caleb MacDonald; and his sisters, Audrey Jean Barkhaus and Elaine Denker.
He is survived by: his children, Julie Hansen (Ray) of Fort Dodge, Michael Barkhaus of Fort Dodge, Laurie Point of Pocahontas, Dennis Barkhaus (Terry) of Englewood, CO, James Barkhaus of Pocahontas, Audrey Randolph (Tony) of Rapid City, SD, Marjorie Ayala (Eleanor) of Lake Montezuma, AZ, Amy MacDonald of Phoenix, AZ and Daniel Barkhaus of Pomeroy; and his siblings, Joleen Bockoven of Port Orange, FL and Donald Barkhaus (Phyllis) of Altoona. He is also survived by 43 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren.
