He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence "Curley" Leonard and Anna Ruth Leonard (Horan); his siblings, Charles Leonard (Helen) and Madonna Allen (Don); and his nephew Jeff Leonard.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Mehl; his children, Deb Leonard of Des Moines, Sandy Phillips (Mike) of Winterset and Mitch Leonard (Nancie) of Iowa City; his grandchildren, Cassandra, Amanda, Michelle, Michael, Hannah and Xavier; and his great grandchildren, Deacon, Riley, Raylyn and Aydn.
