She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry "Hank" Mecklenburg and Evelyn Mecklenburg (Johnson); her grandmother Alice Zoleman; her daughter Julie Peters; her grandson Jase Colborne; and her in-laws, John and Lucy Herman.
She is survived by: her husband Jack of Pocahontas; her children, John Herman (Keala) of Pocahontas, Joel Herman (Jennifer) of Newport News, VA, Jill Colborne (Andrew) of Lutz, FL and Jenelle McKimmey (Shane) of Humboldt; her grandchildren, Noah Keolanui-Herman, Joy Herman (Aaron Ungs), Bailey (Bradley Roe), C. J., Matthew Ferrand, Charles Herman, Jayden Fisher, Kennedy, Cash Colborne, Philip, Mason and Easton McKimmey; her great grandchildren, Paislee Mirabal, Levi and Lincoln Roe; and her brothers, Mike Mecklenburg (Anne) of Indiana, Mark Mecklenburg (Lisa) of Indiana, Kurt Mecklenburg of Indiana and David Mecklenburg (Anne) of Indiana. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home - Pocahontas (502 4th Ave NE, Pocahontas, IA 50574). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (201 NE 6th St, Pocahontas, IA 50574).
