It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dennis Owen Phipps (Pleasantville, Iowa), born in Garden Grove, Iowa, who passed away on May 8, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Phipps and Wynna Phipps (Andrew); his brother Gail Phipps; and his nephew David Phipps. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Dudley Phipps (Kelly) of Pleasantville, Darren Phipps (Kerry) of Rockford and Dee Phipps of Pleasantville; his grandchildren, Amanda Hoffman (Scott), Ryan, Ashley, Chrissy, Brianna, Michael, Fiona Phipps and Cori Green (Sean); his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Emma Hodnefield, Tristan, Tate, Mackenzie Hoffman, Finn and Baby Green; and his sister Shirley Birlingmair of Indianola.

Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.

“I just found out about Dennis's death. To me, his death (at the same date as Little Richard's) has much more impact on me than Little Richard's. I have so many fond memories of him and our band shenanigans. Sorry that I cannot make it to the funeral, but Ron Wheeldon will be there to represent the two best brass musicians (me and Ronnie) at the funeral. Our prayers are with the family (You too, Dudley) and I know there isn't much anyone can say to make the hurt go away except he'll be missed.”
