He was predeceased by: his mother Pat DeForest; and his parents-in-law, James and Darlene Calhoun. He is survived by: his father Alvin DeForest of Lyons, GA; his children, Chrissy, Cody, Heath and Cami; his brothers, Jeff DeForest (Teresa) of Douglas, GA and Dean DeForest (Margie) of Lyons, GA; and his grandchildren, Taya, Easton, Leilani, Amaya, Merik, Gideon and Emery.
