She was predeceased by: her parents, John Marion and Blanche Evalee Lunsford Jones; her brother Donald Jones; and her great grandchildren, Daniel Steel Deaton and Heaven Grace Johnson.

She is survived by: her husband Donald Burkman; her children, Melanie Deaton (Blaine) of Bloomfield, Iowa, Valerie Burkman of Des Moines, Timothy Burkman (Melody) of Prairie City and Stephanie Burkman of Dallas Center, Iowa; her grandchildren, Megan Scharff (Mathew), Laura Bolibaugh (Daniel), John Deaton (Melissa), Thomas Deaton (Chelsea), Sarah Johnson (Brandon), Spencer Burkman, Mason Burkman (Morgan), Gavin Burkman (Mindy) and Cameron Burkman; and her great grandchildren, Miranda Sisco, Malachi, Marshall, Cleo, Mazie, Miracle Scharff, Mya, Lily Bolibaugh, Jameson, Madilyn Deaton, Luke, Lilly, Delaney, Ashley, Isaiah Deaton and Samuel Johnson.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grandview Chapel. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
