It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Albert Racey of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, born in Iowa City, Iowa, who passed away on September 12, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Clyde James and Marion Racey (Laurent); his former life partner Gloria; and his sister Connie. He is survived by : his wife Nancy of West Branch; his children, Destiny Sparrow of Channahon, Derek Racey (Lindsay) of Pleasant Hill, Eric Bumgardner (Ana) of Urbandale and Adam Bumgardner (Laura Reed) of Sierra Vista, Arizona.; his grandchildren, Avery, Addison, Savannah, James, Maia and Sophie; his close friends, Phil and Amanda Rushton; and also Gabriella.

A memorial fund has been established.
