He was predeceased by: his parents, George Clair and Edith Anna Johnston (Hastings); and his siblings, Leonard, Lloyd (Sue) and Irene Koob (Lloyd).
He is survived by: his wife Joan Marie Kirwan; and his children, Donna Stumme of Newton, Diane Weiss (Mick) of Waverly, Douglas Johnston (Nadine) of Colorado Springs, Donald Johnston (Deb) of Plainfield and Dale Johnston of Pooler, Georgia. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
