He was predeceased by: his parents, Ward Sherer and Esther Sherer (Behrends); and his brother Eugene Sherer. He is survived by: his wife Jennie Pruitt Wensel of Pisgah; his stepchildren, Sarah (Tony LeClaire) of Pisgah, Danny Wensel of Soldier, Mary Frisk, Gale of Little Sioux, Amy (Doug Trucke) of Danbury and Jill Wensel of Little Sioux; his brothers, Jerry Sherer (Barb) of Logan, John Sherer (Evonne) of Chillicothe and Bill Sherer (Melodie) of Salem, Oregon; and his cousin Mike Sherer (Sherry) of Pisgah. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren.
