It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peggy (Barthole) Poeckes in Pierson, Iowa, born in Kingsley, Iowa, who passed away on December 14, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas Barthole and Velma Barthole (Trout); her daughter Diane Hemmelman; her siblings, Jerry Barthole (Janice) and Shirley Heidesch (Bill); and her brother-in-law Jim Woods.
She is survived by: her husband Art Poeckes of Le Mars; her sons, Brad Poeckes of Omaha, NE, James Poeckes of Le Mars, IA and Tom Poeckes (Shelly) of Le Mars, IA; her grandchildren, Hannah Poeckes, Claire Poeckes, Laura Poeckes, Mary Grace Poeckes, Mark Poeckes, Brian Hemmelman, Kayla Hemmelman and Dylan Poeckes; and her sister Pat Woods of Le Mars, IA. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
There will be a Parish Rosary at 11:00 a. m. Social distancing and wearing a mask will be required.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Peggy's name to Gehlen Catholic School.
