He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bellis and Lois Bellis (Shepard); and his siblings, Buddy Bellis Sr. and Erna Warren. He is survived by: his girlfriend Martha Winger of Perry; his children, Craig Bellis (Barb) of Texas, Janise Steffen (Kelly) of Tennessee, Kevin Bellis (Diana) of Des Moines and Rene Thompson (Scott) of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Conner Bellis of Des Moines, Carl Bellis of Texas, Melanie Steffen of Tennessee and Courtney Halsmer (Gabe) of Tennessee; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Lauren, Logan and Gwen Halsmer; and his siblings, Steve Bellis (Sue) of Des Moines, Sheryl Calhoun of Ankeny and Jean Ann Scigliano of Ankeny. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
