He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his children, Chris McDowell of Des Moines and Colleen Weir of Perry; his grandchildren, Maddi Cross (Avery), Abbi Weir (Taevis), Sara Weir (Cruz), Riley McDowell, Ashley Sims, Kourtney Harding and Eli Ballard; his great grandchildren, Olyvia Orellana, Isaac Sanchez, Anthony Sanchez and Noelle Sims; his sister Kathy Otten (Dennis) of Linn Grove; and his mother-in-law Colleen Paulson.
