He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Winkelman and Dorothy Winkelman; his brothers, Merle and Brian Winkelman; his brother-in-law Michael Murphy; and his pets, Diesel, Woody, Roscoe and Brandy.

He is survived by: his wife Deborah Winkelman (Eddy); his son Jeremy Winkelman (Jennifer); his grandsons, Andrew and Tyler Winkelman; his siblings, John Winkelman (Judy), Marilyn Dvorak (Dave) and Marcia Murphy; his mother-in-law Janece Eddy; and his sisters-in-law, Julie Niehaus (Mike) and Linda Winkelman.
