He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Faye; his wife Darlene; his children, Gary Howard Heaton of Havelock, NC and Marcia Marie Uhlman of Arlington; his grandchildren, Margeaux Ljungberg of Juneau, Alaska, Meredith Bruhn of Havelock, NC, Andrew Heaton of Havelock, NC and Luke Uhlman of Arlington, Texas; and his sister Phyllis Davis of Vinton, IA. He was also cherished by six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
