He was predeceased by: his parents, Bridget Smith (Nolan) and Lawrence Smith; his siblings, Noreen, Barb, Helen and Joe; his nephews, Charles Jr. and Nick; and his niece Lynda.

He is survived by: his wife Myrna Mino; his children, Lynda, Charles Jr., Nick, April Wright (Kirk), Toni Smith and Steve Smith (Anna); and his grandchildren, Connor, Seth, Kiley, Aubrey and Ella.

“Myrna and family. It saddens me to hear of Chuck's passing. I have many fond memories of him when he worked with Roger my brother at the gas company here in Algona. What a life you two shared and the family you had together. Making him a dad I am sure was the most special gift you ever gave him Myrna and then it continued with the kids making him a grandpa.
