He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Wayne and Iona DeVee Haden (Brideson) of King's Daughter Hospital; his siblings, Saundra Boots, Sharon Mattke and Melvin McCord; his children, Lori and Greg; and his grandson Jeremy Diers.
He is survived by: his wife Roxie May Smithson; his children, Beth Rasmussen (Marvin) of Jefferson, IA, Lynelle Diers (Norm) of Ottumwa, IA and Brian Haden of Panora, IA; his grandchildren, Jarrod Diers, Jolyn Hartson, Micah Rasmussen and Miriam Mendoza; and his great grandchildren, Noah, Brianna Diers, Sophia, Xander, Angel Diers, Mariah, Jordan Hartson, Isabella Mendoza, Ellyanna, Aliyah and Fynneas Rasmussen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Lighthouse Assembly of God Church (202 SE 1st Pl, Panora, IA 50216). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A procession will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery (1789 R Ave, Jefferson, IA 50129).
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
