He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Nickel and Fern Nickel (Scott); his sister Molly Mehalovich; his siblings-in-law, Tony Mehalovich, Keith Mathews, Howard Peters, Cheryl Nickel and Madelyn Senk; and his in-laws, Alvie Peters, Helen Leonard (Peters) and Carl Leonard.
He is survived by: his wife Margene Peters of Woodward; his children, Brent Nickel (Shantel) of Grinnell, Melonie Slight (Jay) of Johnston and Amy Nickel (Stacy Lilley) of Perry; his grandchildren, Emily Webster (Ian), Casey Nickel, Jared Nickel, Jack Nickel, Taylor Webster (Noah), Madalyn Lee, Mackinzie and Natalie Lilley; and his siblings, Evelyn Mathews, Wayne Nickel and Dan Nickel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to sponsor an Honor Flight for military veterans in Bill's memory.
