She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William McCarthy and Anna McCarthy (Johnson); her husband Eldon Schmitt of Raphael's Cathedral; her daughters, Patti Steffen (Gary), Vicki Steffen (Phil) and Wanda Loewen (Dan); her grandchildren, Jen Hazer (Bri), Nicole Turnis (Brian), Amanda Trumm (Jim), Brooke LaChance (Jake), Bridgette Steffen, Shane Steffen, Jesse Loewen (Traci), Lee Symonds (Ben), Tanner Loewen (Cortney) and Cale Loewen (Micaela); her sister Mary Smith; her in-laws, Arnita Erickson, Verlyn Schmitt and Virgil Hammerand; her siblings, Bill McCarthy (Alice), Bob McCarthy (Doreen), Justin McCarthy (Mary Jane), Orland McCarthy (Melita), Loras McCarthy (Isabel), Lorraine Walsh (Red), Ann Heacock (Louie) and Eileen McCarthy; her parents-in-law, Frank and Mary Schmitt; and her in-laws, Marie Even (Kelly), Evelyn Lucas (Elmer), Salena Watters (Dale), Leo Schmitt, Lavern Schmitt (Lil), Jerome Schmitt (Josephine), Geneva Arlen, Doris Schmitt, Bob Erickson, Luella Hammerand and Arvel Smith.
