He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cummings and Leona Cummings (Gillon); his wife Joan S. Freymann Steger; his siblings, Gerry Steil and Ralph Cummings; and his brother-in-law Marty Bowerman.
He is survived by: his close friend Patty Doyle of Peosta, Iowa; his siblings, Margie Bowerman of Coal Valley, IL and Kenneth Cummings (Carol) of Malta, IL; and his sister-in-law Donna Cummings of Dubuque, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
