He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Dougherty and Marie Dougherty (Greenwalt); his siblings, John P. "Jack" Dougherty (Beatrice "Bea"), Rita Naderman (Joe), Tom Dougherty (Katie), Robert Dougherty, Agnes Hill (Jack) and Rosemary Dougherty; his granddaughter Sophia J. Dougherty; and his niece Sharon Dougherty.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Dougherty of Peosta, IA; his children, Dan Dougherty of Dubuque, IA, Joseph Dougherty of Dubuque, IA and Lisa Stiles (Todd); his grandson Josh of Robbins, IA; his son Tim Dougherty (Jenny); his granddaughters, Elizabeth and Katherine of Mt. Vernon, IA; his daughter Lori Armstrong (Bryan); his grandchildren, Bryce, Emily and Ava of Atkins, IA; and his brother Jim Dougherty (Sheila) of Epworth, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
