He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Umble and Erma Umble (Meritt); and his siblings, Greg Umble and Carol Umble. He is survived by: his siblings, Jim (Karen Umble) and Chery (Drew Schmidt); and his sister-in-law Linda Umble of Pella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a park bench in the Otley playground.
