It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Hannay of Pella, Iowa, born in Sully, Iowa, who passed away on August 6, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rutt Kaldenberg and Sadie Kaldenberg (Sjaardema); her husband Edward J. Hannay; her son John Hannay; her siblings, John E. Kaldenberg (Ada), Dewey Kaldenberg (Minnie May), George Kaldenberg (Lena), Kathryn Van Zante (Harris), Jeannette VanDenBerg (Jerry), Josephine McKenna and Freda "Chic" Visser (Martin "Buck"); her son-in-law Beryl O'Connor; and her siblings-in-law, Bob DeRonde, Wayne Klein and Margaret Hamor (Wade).
She is survived by: her daughter Mary O'Connor of Cedar Rapids, IA; her sisters, Agnes Masselink of California, Sibel Hansen of Tucson, AZ, Dorothy DeRonde of Pella and Darlene Klein of Pella; her grandchildren, Megan O'Connor of Anamosa, IA, Jill Hannay of Washington, Leslie Hannay of Washington and Jed Hannay (Julie) of Virginia; her daughter-in-law Deonise Hannay of Capetown; her stepgrandchildren, Paul Joubert of South Africa and Jeannine Stafford of Australia; and her niece Trudy Hamor of Florida. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
