He was predeceased by: his parents, Sture Alfred and Roberta Francis Peterson (Huston); and his brother Carl G. Peterson. He is survived by: his wife Carol Barr; his niece Jennifer (Mark Cording); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Gunner and Ava; and his niece Susan (Helmut Schmid).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Iowa National Heritage Foundation.
