He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick John and Nannie Tillie Fillman (Schafer); and his wife Shirley. He is survived by: his children, Connie Carstens (Richard) of Jefferson, Craig Fillman (Elaine) of Paton and Caryn Hane (Chuck) of Jefferson; and his grandchildren, Nicole Rasmussen (Tim), Joshua Carstens (Mylissa), Joy Johnson (Bobby), Sarah Parks (Peter), Kelly Sams (Mike), Aimee Bunker (Matt) and Charlie Hane. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
