He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Donohoe Hanson; his children, Bill Johnson (Linda) of Iowa City and Margaret Safina (Vito) of Parnell; his stepchildren, Michael Hanson (Daun) of Iowa City and Mary Pat Hanson of Tiffin; his grandchildren, Tony Safina, Michael Safina (Kara), David Safina (Andrea) and Mary Ann Wehner (Todd); his stepgrandson Quinn Karstens; his sisters, Eva Riley of Seattle, WA, Lila McCallister (Daryl) of Williamsburg, Donna McCallister (Bill) of Marengo and Betty Estabrook of Grandview; and his brother-in-law Dan Sullivan (Dolores) of North Liberty. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
