He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Abkes and Bertha Abkes (Christopherson). He is survived by: his cousins, Theodore Abkes (Marie) of Cedar Falls, Mary Heitland (Jon) of Iowa Falls, Marcia Stolte (Steve) of Hiawatha, Vinton Christopherson of Parkersburg, Howard Christopherson of Mason City and Myrna Kluiter (LaVern) of Parkersburg.
