With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Spain (Parkersburg, Iowa), who passed away on July 15, 2018 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Terrence James and Margaret Dorothy Spain (Connor); his former wife Esther Spain; his son Gary Spain; and his grandson Aaron Buss.
He is survived by: his wife Dixie of Parkersburg; his children, Jackie Hager (Bill) of Parkersburg, Steven Spain (Beth) of Mooresville and Connie Wollschlager (Jim) of Lakeville; his stepchildren, Leah VanderHolt (Gregg) of Parkersburg and Dean Lindeman of Rockwell City; his grandchildren, Taylor Buss, Jonathan Spain, Madison Spain and Thomas Wollschlager; his great grandchildren, Kennedy Buss, Alexis Buss, Henry Buss and Elizabeth Buss; his stepgrandchildren, Amy Lockard, Rachel Hasselbrink and Taryn VanderHolt; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Lorelei Lockard, Isla Lockard, Sloan Hasselbrink and Josey Hasselbrink; and his sister Judy Spain (Chris) of Santa Fe.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established and may be directed to the family.
