He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

“Dear Lori, Debbie, and Bobbette, I am so sorry for your loss of dear Jim. I have wonderful memories of visits with your family. Jim was always friendly and funny, and my dad really enjoyed their friendship. A very thoughtful thing that Jim did a few years before my dad passed away was to give their army letters to Dad; that was a gift to both Dad and Mom.
