He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Coplen and Jeanette Coplen (Luppen); his wife Marlys Evelyn Johnson; his sister-in-law Shirley Cornelius; his son-in-law Richard Wiener; and his siblings-in-law, Meint and Hattie Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jodi Wiener of Parkersburg and Traci Mehmen (Jeff) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jeremy McIntire, Shelea Jordan and Rebecca Crosley; his great grandchildren, Elijah, Ashton, Evelyn and Josie; his siblings-in-law, Gary Cornelius (Dawn) of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Shiela Carlson (Alan) of Waterloo, Iowa; and his nephew Brent Cornelius (Kathy) of New Hartford, Iowa..
