He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas DeGroote, Sr. and Kobey DeGroote (DeBuhr); his wife Berniece Mulder; his son Dennis DeGroote; and his brother Thomas DeGroote, Sr..

He is survived by: his daughter Karen Tolsma (John) of Parkersburg; his daughter-in-law Mary Winkel (Eldon) of Shell Rock; his granddaughters, Christina Faviere (Steve), Dixie Ferguson (Andy), Diane Smith (Nolan) and Heidi Biersner (Brodie); his great grandchildren, Hayden, Henry, Isabella, Victoris Faviere, Madeline Ferguson, Cora, Scarlett and Eloise Biersner; and his brothers, Robert DeGroote (LaVonne) of Parkersburg and Gary DeGroote (Norma) of New Hartford.

Attendees are asked to bring and wear a mask, and social distance.
