He was predeceased by: his parents, James Smith and Viola Smith (Brandt); and his son David Smith. He is survived by: his wife Ana Ruiz; his daughter Roxanne Botic (Don) of St. Peters, Missouri; his stepdaughter Doreen Almodovar; and his brother Kenneth Smith of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren.
