He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Dickes and Mary Magdeline Dickes (Hosch); and his siblings, Ron Dickes and Beverly Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Faye Van Dyk of Parkersburg; his children, Gwendolyn Buss (Chad) of Parkersburg, Mischa Matthias (Aaron) of Fairbank and Clint Dickes (Tessa) of Radcliffe, Iowa; his grandchildren, Gabe Buss (Shelby), Elizabeth Thaxton (Christopher), Isabella Buss, Olivia Cabrera (Jose), Jacob, Caleb Gochenouer, Sydney, Andrew Matthias, Dalton, Kaitlynn, Aubree and Easton Dickes; his great grandchildren, Sean, Dylan, Calyn and Raelyn Thaxton; his sister-in-law Esther Dickes of Illinois; his niece Jill Higgins (Tim); and his nephew Christopher Roberts.
