He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Trent and Gladys Trent (Noland); his daughter Debra; his brothers, Larry, Charles and Robert; and his stepson Kurt.
He is survived by: his former wife Ruth Gilbert; his daughter Sandra; his wife Pat; his adoptive son Michael; his stepdaughters, Julie Davis (Doug), Trudy Woolman (Ed) and Kathy Olson (Dave); his siblings, Keith of California, Imajean Wasson of Florida and Verlee Ulrich of Adel; and also Michael. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
