He is survived by: his sons, Peter Joseph and Jeffry Dean; his wife Kathleen Leinen; his children, Karla Dougherty (Thomas) of Barboursville, WV, Cheryl Schwery (Tim) of Underwood, Iowa, Pete Leinen (Pam) of Harlan, Iowa and Jeff Leinen (Janell) of Panama, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Joshua Dougherty (Jessica), Rachel Thomas (Aaron), Sarah Mitchell, Zachary Dougherty, Abigail Cornelison (Matt), Elizabeth Richardson (Ryan), Annabelle Wells (Chase), Benjamin Schwery, Alicia Yoder (Josh), Courtney Krager (Perry), Brittany Leinen, Brandon Leinen, Jenna Miller, Camden Leinen, Joshua Cheek, Jonathan Cheek, Jocelyn Cheek and Jonas Reynolds; his great grandchildren, Caitlin Dougherty, Bryson Dougherty, Eve Thomas, Callie Thomas, Elijah Thomas, Joel Mitchell, Emma Mitchell, Bailey Cornelison, Jemi Cornelison, Jaxton Cornelison, Gentry Cornelison, Quinn Cornelison, Elias Richardson, Audrey Richardson, Leo Richardson, Tate Richardson and Ryder Yoder; his siblings, James Leinen (Dorothy) of Denison, Mildred Brus (Jerry) and Zita Smith (Gaylen) of Portsmouth, Iowa; and his siblings-in-law, Charlotte Leinen of Harlan, Iowa and Mark Doust of Dunbar, Nebraska. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
